Responsibilities
- Embed with internal business functions to understand their systems, KPIs, workflows, and pain points.
- Identify, prioritize, and sequence high-value AI opportunities based on impact, effort, and risk.
- Prototype and ship production AI-native applications using LLMs, retrieval, and agentic workflows.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy trade-offs and build bespoke applications on AWS when appropriate.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Define success measures, build credible ROI cases, train teams, measure post-launch impact, and drive adoption.
- Share effective AI implementation patterns across the Technology & Data Strategy team.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience across software engineering, analytics, strategy, finance, or product, including at least 3 years of hands-on AI or AI-enabled application experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or technical field required; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience shipping production AI tools, including LLM applications, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows, from prototype to real users.
- Hands-on experience with automation or orchestration platforms such as n8n and with designing and shipping bespoke AWS applications.
- Experience with reviewed GitHub pull requests, testing, secrets handling, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, environment separation, staged rollouts, monitoring, and rollback.
- Strong SQL, data modeling, Excel, and modern BI experience such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau, including work with messy real-world data.
- Working command of LLMs, retrieval, agentic workflows, model evaluation, data quality, and the practical limits of AI.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to prototype, build, test, and iterate.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen and the ability to communicate business cases clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Forward-deployed, production AI, Solutions Engineer, or hands-on consulting experience is a plus.
Benefits
- Hybrid work arrangement in Toronto with 3 days per week in the office.
- Base salary of CAD $145,000–$170,000 excluding annual bonus and equity when applicable.
