Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable identity services for authentication, adaptive MFA, and user lifecycle workflows.
  • Develop high-performance REST and RPC APIs and own features from architecture and design through implementation and production support.
  • Implement contract and integration testing and improve reliability, latency, observability, and fault tolerance.
  • Design and operate secure, highly available cloud-based distributed systems.
  • Partner with QE, platform, product, and design teams.
  • Lead software projects as a technical lead and mentor software engineers when applicable.
  • Integrate ML and generative AI capabilities into identity workflows such as adaptive authentication and anomaly detection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional work experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of Java experience, including concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, software design patterns, and maintainable backend development.
  • Production experience with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, dependency injection, auto-configuration, WebFlux, and Spring-based microservices.
  • Experience with Java web technologies and unit testing frameworks.
  • Experience designing and shipping high-scale, high-performance, highly available, fault-tolerant, secure cloud-based distributed systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs using REST, gRPC, GraphQL, OpenAPI or Swagger, Protobuf, API versioning, gateway patterns, rate limiting, and backward-compatible designs.
  • Preferred experience leading software projects as a technical lead and mentoring engineers.
  • Preferred experience using Claude, Copilot, or Codex for software development, debugging, testing, and code quality.
  • Preferred experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, event sourcing, CQRS, and reliable asynchronous communication.
  • Preferred experience with Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast, Ehcache, distributed caching, cache invalidation, and session management.
