Base Salary
$179k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components that solve business problems.
- Make ML infrastructure decisions involving model selection, data, feature selection, training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality, bias/variance, and validation.
- Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment.
- Build and enhance software supporting big data and machine learning applications.
- Retrain, maintain, and monitor production models.
- Build or leverage cloud-based architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
- Construct and optimize data pipelines that feed ML models.
- Apply continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, and monitoring practices.
- Manage code and model governance while following Responsible and Explainable AI practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and cross-functional Agile teams.
- Lead teams developing ML solutions using industry best practices, patterns, and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 6 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java.
- At least 2 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a similar field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience building production-ready data pipelines that feed ML models preferred.
- 3+ years of experience with an industry-recognized ML framework such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow preferred.
- 2+ years of experience developing performant, resilient, and maintainable code preferred.
- 2+ years of experience with data gathering and preparation for ML models preferred.
- 2+ years of people leader experience and 1+ year leading teams developing ML solutions preferred.
- Experience deploying ML solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform preferred.
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling complex ML data pipelines and evaluating their performance preferred.
- Industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open-source contributions, or patents preferred.
- Experience using interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion preferred.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Plano, TX and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, VA.
- The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including possible cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
