Responsibilities
- Design, build, enhance, and migrate Java web applications from legacy systems to modern Java architectures.
- Develop and support reusable Spring Boot microservices on OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Integrate applications with ING services using REST APIs, Kafka, MQ, file transfer, S3, and service discovery.
- Implement test automation using frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber, and PACT.
- Monitor and alert on platform and application behavior using Grafana and Prometheus.
- Carry out production deployments, patch bugs, reduce inefficiencies, and troubleshoot critical production issues.
- Support internal customers and collaborate with other service providers on incidents and changes.
- Contribute to platform hardening, security, stability, deployment, and IT risk compliance.
- Apply incident management processes and support production operations across platforms and applications.
Requirements
- Experience designing, building, and enhancing Java web applications.
- Experience migrating functionality from legacy applications to modern Java web architectures.
- Familiarity with modern architectures, including microservices, event-driven architecture, and integrations.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, databases and ORM frameworks, integration technologies, testing frameworks, CI/CD, and container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with Agile, software development, DevOps, project management, or other software delivery approaches.
- Exposure to diverse infrastructure, application, information technologies, and processing environments.
- Knowledge of general IT risk controls, including access controls, change controls, and physical security.
- Experience with incident management processes.
- Ability to discuss incidents and changes with other service providers and troubleshoot critical production issues.
