Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement backend features using Java and Quarkus.
  • Build scalable, available, resilient, and reliable distributed applications in AWS and other public cloud environments.
  • Contribute to microservices and event-driven architecture design and evolution.
  • Implement integrations between internal and external services using REST APIs, messaging platforms, and event hubs.
  • Create and maintain unit, service, contract, and integration tests.
  • Support observability through logging, health checks, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Participate in technical, architectural, and product discussions and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to solve complex technical problems.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, Agile and DevOps delivery practices, and process improvement.
  • Share knowledge and provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience developing web applications and microservices with Java.
  • Strong experience with Java 8 through Java 21 and hands-on experience with Quarkus.
  • Experience developing and deploying applications in public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed applications, and service integrations.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience creating unit, service, contract, and integration tests using JUnit and Postman/Newman.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases including MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, or DynamoDB.
  • Experience with caching, data-indexing, messaging, and event platforms including AWS SQS, AWS SNS, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
  • Experience implementing observability practices and using monitoring tools such as Datadog.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of Design Patterns, SOLID, Clean Code, and 12-Factor App principles.
  • Experience with serverless services, particularly AWS Lambda.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
