Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain ultra-low-power embedded firmware.
- Develop drivers and low-level firmware for MCUs, sensors, and wireless modules.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define power budgets and validate low-power designs.
- Implement and test sleep modes, clock gating, dynamic voltage scaling, and other power-management techniques.
- Perform power profiling and debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, energy analyzers, and current probes.
- Optimize code size and execution efficiency in resource-constrained environments.
- Develop firmware in no-OS or lightweight RTOS environments.
- Lead integration of I2C, SPI, UART, and other embedded communication protocols.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and embedded standards compliance.
- Develop and maintain automated build and release pipelines where applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of embedded software development experience, emphasizing low-power design.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with low-power microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M series, nRF52, Ambiq, or MSP430.
- Familiarity with RTOS concepts and lightweight operating systems such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Deep understanding of hardware/software interaction and power-management techniques.
- Experience with Git and software development workflows.
- Preferred experience with BLE, Zigbee, LoRa, PCB schematics, battery-operated or energy-harvesting devices, and Python or Bash scripting for test automation.
- Preferred experience with linear algebra, digital signal processing, machine learning, Edge Impulse, OpenCV, PyTorch, hardware abstraction layers, sensor fusion, and modular or event-driven architectures.
- Preferred experience developing and scaling CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
