Responsibilities
- Develop and extend the LogScale backend in Scala to handle increasing ingestion and query loads while maintaining high availability.
- Scope, design, and deliver features and solutions to open-ended engineering problems.
- Own features from ideation and development through deployment, monitoring, testing, and customer feedback.
- Monitor production features, troubleshoot critical customer issues, and support operational excellence and cluster stability.
- Collaborate through code reviews, pairing, documentation, design reviews, technical talks, and cross-team solution development.
- Provide broad technical leadership and communicate technical concepts to individual contributors and management.
Requirements
- Experience in software development and making pragmatic tradeoffs between short-term delivery and long-term product goals.
- Experience contributing to broad technical leadership in products or services.
- Fluency in functional and object-oriented programming, with the ability to learn new languages.
- Demonstrated operational excellence operating multi-component services across multiple geographic regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-oriented approach.
- Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
- Passion for or personal interest in distributed systems and understanding production-system behavior.
- Preferred experience with Scala, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kafka, large-scale distributed architectures, high scalability and availability, optimization, log management, or cybersecurity products.
