Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware build infrastructure, toolchains, configuration systems, and artifact-generation processes.
- Drive adoption of industry-standard build automation, configuration management, and developer-tooling practices.
- Improve developer experience, engineering efficiency, software quality, and software processes across multiple teams.
- Develop, modify, test, document, and review software requirements, designs, interfaces, and related specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on architecture, design, tooling, testing, validation, and verification.
- Mentor junior team members and lead strategic design and architecture decisions.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes.
Requirements
- Proficiency with formal software development and test methodologies and embedded software architecture and design patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Bash, and Go for automation and developer tooling.
- Substantial experience with embedded build systems and toolchains such as GCC, CMake, Kconfig, and Nix for multi-target embedded platforms.
- Eight years of experience with C on embedded devices and real-time operating systems.
- Experience defining high-level requirements and translating them into software designs and implementations.
- Hands-on experience building build/test/release automation and pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead work teams, direct work where applicable, lead group discussions, and mentor team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- Experience in embedded software for medical devices or a related industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices is preferred.
- Experience using modern AI tools in software development is strongly preferred.
