Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and drive the transition to the company’s new data platform.
- Develop data-platform tooling, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing, and cataloging capabilities.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most fundamental ELT pipelines.
- Take responsibility for critical reports used for executive board decisions and as foundations for other data teams.
- Apply software engineering fundamentals and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in data engineering or software engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
- Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms, including equivalent tools to Dagster, dbt, BigQuery, and AWS ECS.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing, design patterns, and best practices applied to data engineering.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
- Knowledge of infrastructure setups using Docker and Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to understand complex processes and communicate concisely.
