Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and advance the company’s modern data platform.
- Develop platform tools, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing processes, CI/CD, and data cataloging capabilities.
- Maintain and optimize the company’s largest and most important ELT pipelines.
- Own the delivery of critical reports used by the executive board and other data teams.
- Improve the efficiency of data teams through tailored platform products and tooling.
- Coordinate diverse stakeholders and communicate complex processes clearly.
Requirements
- Hands-on Data or Software Engineering experience with data-intensive, business-critical pipelines.
- Experience building and operating modern data platforms, particularly with Dagster, dbt, BigQuery, and AWS ECS or comparable tools.
- Strong Software Engineering foundation, including CI/CD, testing, best practices, and design patterns applied to Data Engineering.
- Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
- Infrastructure knowledge including Docker and Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Pragmatic decision-making and the ability to balance technical quality with delivery speed.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Negotiation-level English proficiency.
