Responsibilities
- Integrate new blockchains, decentralized exchanges, and launchpads into the Coinbase app.
- Design and implement first-party smart contracts for DEX aggregation and advanced onchain order types.
- Scale real-time data pipelines to process more than 100,000 messages per second with millisecond-latency blockchain market data processing.
- Optimize the trading stack for execution speed, fill quality, and asset coverage.
- Develop agentic-first software patterns, self-improving systems, and productivity tooling.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience, including successfully building and operating production data systems or pipelines.
- Hands-on experience designing data-intensive systems and integrating with Kafka, ClickHouse, StarRocks, Temporal, and Redis.
- Experience designing and integrating onchain smart contracts on EVM systems such as Ethereum or Base, or on Solana, with deep understanding of one or more relevant virtual-machine programming models.
- Experience building, iterating on, and improving agentic-first code repositories and software systems in production.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
