Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java and J2EE applications according to specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Own applications within the assigned Credit Risk Technology sub-domain and ensure they remain resilient, scalable, robust, lean, and self-healing.
- Work with business users and business analysts to understand requirements and identify necessary code changes.
- Perform compilation, code walkthroughs, execution-flow analysis, design reviews, code reviews, and project reviews.
- Perform deployment, unit testing, integration testing, and UAT/SIT support.
- Manage code check-ins, check-outs, merges, build management, and traceability of changes.
- Lead and coordinate the work of 4–6 developers and report progress and issues to the Project Manager.
- Provide technical and architectural leadership, promote knowledge sharing, and coordinate with global teams.
- Use AI copilots and AI-driven development tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, optimization, documentation, and automated testing support.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of software development experience, including extensive application design and development experience.
- Strong Core Java and J2EE knowledge, including threading, collections, synchronization, locking, annotations, and generics.
- Experience with Spring Core, Spring Batch, object-oriented design, design patterns, SQL, PL/SQL, RDBMS, and Unix shell scripting.
- Experience with Ant or Maven build scripts and Eclipse as a development environment.
- Knowledge of ETL, ELT, and data warehousing concepts, cloud microservices, and NoSQL databases or caching technologies.
- Experience with caching frameworks such as GemFire, Redis, or Hazelcast is preferred.
- Knowledge of IoC frameworks such as Guice, development best practices, test-driven development, and software development quality processes is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably a B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics and Communication Engineering; candidates from other disciplines with a passion for coding and systems development may apply.
- Experience in leading or coordinating small to medium-sized teams, working with remote teams, and demonstrating strong technical, design, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A substantial portion of experience in investment banks, banks, or product companies is preferred.
- Experience with AI copilots and AI-driven development tools, including effective prompting, code optimization, automated testing support, and knowledge sharing, is highly valued.
