Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, test, and debug Java-based applications, web components, database integrations, and RESTful web services.
- Use Java, Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, JSF, SQL, and relational databases to implement application functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during requirements discussions, technical design, Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and feature delivery.
- Investigate and resolve application, integration, database, performance, and security-related issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for application components, interfaces, configurations, and support procedures.
- Use Git or an equivalent version control system for source-code collaboration and branching.
- Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, usability, security, and long-term supportability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Java software development is required, with the role targeting 5–10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Java EE, object-oriented programming, Java web application development, and enterprise application development.
- Experience with one or more of Spring, Hibernate, or JSF, plus RESTful web service development, consumption, or integration.
- Practical experience with relational databases, SQL queries, database integration, transactions, data validation, and database troubleshooting.
- Experience using Git or an equivalent version control system and participating in code reviews, debugging, testing, and software development lifecycle activities.
- Ability to understand deployment, configuration, availability, scalability, and monitoring in distributed or cloud-enabled environments.
- Understanding of secure application development, authentication, authorization, input validation, secure data handling, and sensitive-information protection.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with multiple Java frameworks, automated testing, build and deployment tools, continuous integration and delivery, API documentation, logging, monitoring, performance analysis, cloud environments, responsive design, accessibility, and relevant certifications or training.
