Base Salary
$192k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve Nubank’s storage and database platforms, focusing on Datomic, provisioning, and caching.
- Own database infrastructure at scale, ensuring performance, availability, and resiliency.
- Enable new country launches by ensuring database architectures meet regulatory and scalability requirements.
- Ensure regulatory and data-safety compliance, including backups and multi-region availability strategies.
- Collaborate horizontally across the engineering organization to shape shared libraries and best practices.
- Lead incident response for storage and database-related production issues.
- Mentor other engineers and help them navigate complex technical contexts.
Requirements
- Deep experience with databases, including design, operations, performance, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data systems supporting millions of users.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Kubernetes, Clojure, and Datomic.
- Background in roles like Database Administrator, Systems Engineer, or DevOps Engineer with a focus on databases.
- Proven ability to work in horizontal/platform teams building shared infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills and emotional resilience for high-stress situations.
- High learning agility and patience to navigate a senior technical environment.
