Base Salary
$108k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain Java-based software applications and components for satellite ground systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and software engineers to define requirements and specifications.
- Modify and maintain previously written code while ensuring software performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, system integration activities, and program milestones.
- Develop and maintain software documentation, requirements, interfaces, operations concepts, and other engineering artifacts.
- Stay current with Java and satellite technology advancements to support innovation.
Requirements
- STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience are typically required.
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. government security clearance, with an adjudication date less than three years before the start date, is required before starting.
- U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
- Experience with object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment is required.
- Experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit and scripting languages such as Perl or Python is required.
- Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment is required.
- Preferred qualifications include Ansible, Jenkins, containers, Spring Framework, Atlassian tools, Security+ certification, satellite communication systems and protocols, and secure coding practices in defense or aerospace settings.
