Base Salary
$215k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deliver production-grade real-time C++ software infrastructure for onboard robot control.
- Integrate low-level firmware data with high-level controls logic over real-time task graphs.
- Implement and tune state estimation, sensor-fault diagnostics, and diagnostic trouble code mapping.
- Characterize and improve robot kinematics, estimation, and actuation quality.
- Bring up new robot embodiments and integrate learned locomotion and motion-imitation policies into the real-time controls stack.
- Perform root-cause analysis for complex hardware-software integration issues.
- Develop APIs connecting controls and autonomy systems with robot hardware and simulation.
- Maintain architecture, design documentation, and hardware-in-the-loop and simulation test coverage.
- Deliver reliable software through code reviews, continuous integration, and automated testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of robotics software development experience.
- Strong modern C++, object-oriented programming, multithreading, and Linux application development skills.
- Deep knowledge of robotics fundamentals, including kinematics, dynamics, controls, estimation, and system identification.
- Understanding of rigid-body motion and frame transformations; experience with floating-base dynamics, contact or constraint modeling, or sensor fusion is beneficial.
- Comfort with CMake and colcon ROS2 workspaces.
- Familiarity with some of MuJoCo, Drake, Eigen, ROS2, Flatbuffers, and BehaviorTree.CPP.
- Experience leading hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-based testing of control software.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies and version control such as Git.
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with Agile processes, sprint planning, and design or code reviews.
