Base Salary
$180k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement perception systems and new perception tasks for autonomous mining vehicles.
- Develop data collection, volume, and labeling strategies to make models production-ready.
- Select sensor sets and adapt existing models to new vehicles, domains, and operational design domains.
- Make build-versus-reuse decisions, define output types and KPIs, and coordinate with the core perception team.
- Triage field issues involving model performance, timestamps, data quality, calibration, and related system concerns.
- Collaborate with the autonomy platform team, customer engineering, and business development to launch and develop product lines.
Requirements
- Strong systems-level understanding of perception, ideally including planning and controls.
- Experience diagnosing real-world model failures in deployed systems and driving them to resolution.
- Ability to translate ambiguous and evolving customer requirements into technical specifications.
- Product-owner mindset focused on customer success and end-to-end problem ownership.
- Familiarity with PyTorch, ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, Python, and C++.
- Experience with internal ML pipeline or orchestration tooling such as Flyte is preferred.
- Experience with offroad autonomy is preferred.
