Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Understand customer needs and design systems to solve them.
- Build, scale, and evolve data models, services, and systems powering APIs.
- Design and ship new product functionality, particularly internal and customer-facing backend APIs.
- Maintain and improve the Python-based microservice stack.
- Create and improve engineering tooling, processes, and standards.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth.
- Develop Bill Switch, API improvements, tax-product enhancements, customer dashboard APIs, and banking-platform integrations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining full-stack applications, including data modeling, application logic, and API design.
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup or small technology company.
- Expertise with modern backend languages and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Rails, or Gin.
- Expertise with modern frontend web frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Experience playing a key implementation role in projects involving multiple teams and engineers.
- Ability and interest in working closely with customers.
- Responsible use of AI alongside strong fundamental engineering skills.
