Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of full-stack features across ReactJS UI, Java/Python backend services, SQL persistence, and Kafka event streaming.
- Design and implement scalable REST APIs, AWS components using S3 and Lambda, containerized Docker and Kubernetes services, and Terraform-managed environments.
- Implement Kafka event-driven workflows including topic strategy, consumer groups, retry and dead-letter queue patterns, and schema evolution.
- Author and maintain executable specifications for APIs, events, and data contracts, and align implementations and automated tests with those specifications.
- Build and operate production LLM applications using RAG and tool/function calling with evaluation, monitoring, and security controls.
- Establish design review, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, operational-readiness, and responsible AI-assisted engineering standards.
- Mentor and coach engineers, provide technical direction, and promote reuse and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience leading safe and validated use of AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong Python backend development experience, including FastAPI or Flask, API and service development, and strong ReactJS frontend experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL, relational data modeling, query optimization, and indexing.
- Hands-on AWS experience with S3 and Lambda, cloud security fundamentals including IAM-based access patterns, and Terraform infrastructure-as-code experience.
- Experience with spec-driven development using machine-readable specifications such as OpenAPI or AsyncAPI, contract testing, validation, backward compatibility checks, and AI-assisted spec-to-code or spec-to-test tooling such as OpenSpec or Spec-Kit.
- Production LLM application experience including prompt versioning, grounding or RAG, evaluation and monitoring, and secure data handling.
- Preferred experience with DB2 or PostgreSQL, commercial lending or financial services, and regulated environments requiring risk management, controls, and auditability.
