Responsibilities
- Architect and lead organization-wide development of scalable LLM-powered agentic systems for workflow automation, operational optimization, and improved user experiences.
- Define the technical vision and long-term strategy for integrating LLMs with the broader software ecosystem.
- Lead cognitive automation initiatives involving information extraction, summarization, question answering, and other complex cognitive tasks.
- Own the full lifecycle of critical machine learning-powered tools and applications from design through implementation, deployment, and operation.
- Establish engineering standards, frameworks, and patterns for production-grade distributed machine learning solutions.
- Research emerging machine learning, AI agent, and distributed systems trends and translate findings into technical strategy.
- Align requirements, scope, and technical decisions across machine learning engineers, product teams, senior leadership, and multiple engineering organizations.
- Mentor engineers across levels and contribute to hiring strategy, technical bar-raising, and organization-wide technical excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's degree, or Ph.D. in computer science, machine learning, or a related field.
- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience focused on designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying complex agentic applications leveraging LLMs in production.
- Demonstrated organization-wide technical impact and experience owning scalable backend software in high-stakes production environments.
- Strong expertise in Golang is strongly preferred, along with proficiency in Python or similar programming languages.
- Deep expertise with cloud and container frameworks such as AWS and Kubernetes.
- Proven ability to design highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and observable distributed systems.
- Expert-level understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, evaluation metrics, and distributed-systems software engineering practices.
- Strong communication, teamwork, consensus-building, executive stakeholder alignment, and technical leadership skills.
- Interest in machine learning and natural language processing and applying them to large-scale business challenges.
