Base Salary
$300k - $360k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define architecture and technical strategy for scalability and performance.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews.
- Design and implement distributed systems and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and other engineering teams.
- Remain hands-on with critical features and architectural components.
- Drive technical planning and execution aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a key technical partner to the Engineering Manager.
- Champion a culture of innovation and establish engineering best practices.
- Lead efforts in monitoring and performance optimization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in building scalable, distributed, and streaming solutions.
- Deep experience with content management systems and media processing.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java or Scala; Python experience is a plus.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems architecture and microservices.
- Deep understanding of streaming technologies like Kafka.
- Advanced knowledge of databases and data modeling at scale.
- Track record of leading complex technical projects in high-scale environments.
- Excellent communication skills to influence technical decisions.
- Experience with cloud platforms at enterprise scale.
- Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration.
- Experience with search technologies or recommendation systems.
