Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on development and migration to a Temporal workflow-as-code platform with replay-safe and idempotent workflows.
- Build a stateful management plane that handles the global fleet as an eventually consistent distributed system.
- Develop LLM- and ML-enabled services for signal correlation, automated triage, and self-correcting fleet operations.
- Create framework-level services and internal APIs that make products orchestration-ready with built-in reliability hooks.
- Implement deep telemetry across metrics, traces, and events so fleet-wide actions are explainable, auditable, and replayable.
- Engineer management-plane and reliability systems governing the lifecycle of Zscaler’s 100,000+ instance fleet.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience working with hyperscale systems.
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within the functional domain.
- Active exploration and integration of AI tools to improve workflows and problem-solving.
- Mastery of backend systems languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
- Strong experience designing and operating complex distributed systems, including concurrency, failure handling, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience developing Platform APIs using REST or gRPC with idempotency, verification, and safe rollout guarantees.
- Preferred proficiency with Cursor or Windsurf for AI-assisted coding.
- Preferred proficiency with PostgreSQL or other relational stores for high-scale stateful services.
- Preferred experience with Temporal.io, Cadence, or similar workflow engines.
