Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of core workflow and automation infrastructure from architecture through production while remaining hands-on in the codebase.
- Drive adoption, measurement, and improvement of AI-assisted development, including AI-native coding workflows, agent-driven pull request review, automated testing, specification generation, and release processes.
- Define engineering strategy for using AI across the software development lifecycle and evaluate where AI improves delivery.
- Drive process and workflow improvements that reduce manual effort, tighten feedback loops, and improve quality and velocity.
- Mentor engineers in software engineering and effective collaboration with AI agents and copilots.
- Partner with product, design, and adjacent R&D teams to turn ambiguous problems into technical plans.
- Own technical decisions involving architecture tradeoffs, build-versus-buy choices, and platform investment.
- Develop and maintain systems using Node.js, TypeScript, React, AWS, Kubernetes, Redis, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and AI agent frameworks.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including end-to-end full-stack application development.
- 2+ years in a Tech Lead, Staff, or similar role owning technical direction for a team rather than only a feature.
- Hands-on experience using copilots, agentic coding tools, or LLM-based automation to accelerate real engineering work.
- Strong system design and architecture skills, with sound judgment about when to favor simplicity.
- Demonstrated success driving process or workflow improvements that measurably improved team velocity or quality.
- Experience building workflow, automation, or orchestration systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to turn ambiguity into a plan and align a team.
- Comfort working hands-on in code while setting technical direction, with strong ownership and collaborative judgment.
- DevOps experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD is an advantage.
