Responsibilities
- Own technical direction for problems spanning product lines and provide architectural leadership for engineering teams in Tel Aviv.
- Partner with Product Management to evaluate, challenge, and reshape requirements into scalable solutions.
- Write code, review designs and pull requests, debug distributed failures, and build prototypes to validate technical decisions.
- Collaborate with directors, senior staff, principal engineers, and the architecture team while mentoring engineers at every stage.
- Use AI-assisted development in design, coding, and investigation, and help define effective software development practices.
- Guide modernization from legacy architectural patterns and contribute to platform engineering, FinOps, and cost optimization efforts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful depth in architecture at scale.
- Prior experience as a CTO, Chief Architect, or in an equivalent senior architecture role.
- Deep experience with distributed systems and cloud computing.
- Ability to work hands-on in unfamiliar codebases, contribute in multiple languages, debug distributed failures, and review code authoritatively.
- Generalist experience shipping across more than one of services, data, infrastructure, or delivery.
- Working fluency with AI-assisted development, including its failure modes.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills and comfort working across a seven-hour time zone gap.
- Based in Israel and able to work from Tenable’s Tel Aviv office.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Kafka, Spark, Flink, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, CI/CD and release engineering, cybersecurity or security product platforms, legacy modernization, platform engineering, FinOps, cost optimization, patents, technical writing, or open-source contributions.
