Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale.
- Lead software engineering efforts for all cards in the EU.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics teams.
- Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes.
- Ensure team operations and availability through monitoring and policies.
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review standards.
- Develop talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as required.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.
- Proficient in backend system design and development using Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in developing front-end applications.
- Ability to deliver major features and system components with a clear technical plan.
- Comfortable navigating from low-level language idioms to large system architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and iterate on feedback from peers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
