Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, delivery, debugging, and validation of firmware for AMD discrete and embedded products.
- Implement and validate features on reference hardware, pre-silicon emulation environments, and simulation environments.
- Develop x86 firmware using C and work on embedded firmware, BootROM, and hardware implementation.
- Debug firmware and hardware boundary issues using waveform-level analysis.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, project planning, documentation, and software engineering processes.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Canada-based bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge or experience with low-level BIOS, firmware, or system software development is encouraged.
- Knowledge of C or C++ and hardware architectures is encouraged.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, RTOS, embedded controller structures, source control, debuggers, compilers, and system-wide software-to-hardware debugging is encouraged.
- Knowledge of open-source concepts, VHDL, Verilog, FPGA, general hardware design, Linux development environments, and graphics or compute pipelines is encouraged.
- Experience with Perforce, JIRA, Git, or similar tools is encouraged.
Benefits

- Full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week in a hybrid or onsite work structure in Markham, Ontario.
