Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable architectures for enterprise applications.
- Modernize legacy monolithic applications into cloud-native microservices using distributed-systems and event-driven patterns.
- Develop production-ready software with Java, Spring Boot, Laravel, PHP, and React.
- Design RESTful APIs and asynchronous integrations using Kafka and Amazon SQS.
- Define service boundaries, data ownership, and communication strategies across distributed systems.
- Architect and implement scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient AWS solutions.
- Participate in coding, design reviews, code reviews, and technical implementation.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment strategies, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle.
- Drive improvements in architecture, development processes, and system observability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Professional experience developing applications with Laravel, PHP, and React.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
- Extensive experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- Strong understanding of Microservices, Modular Monoliths, Strangler Fig, Change Data Capture, Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and RESTful API patterns.
- Experience implementing asynchronous communication with Kafka and/or Amazon SQS.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB.
- Experience with Debezium or other Change Data Capture technologies.
- Understanding of software design patterns and architectural best practices.
- Experience with AWS services including ECS, EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Systems Manager Parameter Store.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Preferred: experience modernizing large-scale monolithic applications.
- Preferred: experience with Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes.
- Preferred: knowledge of New Relic, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Preferred: experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Preferred: familiarity with Redis or distributed caching solutions.
- Preferred: experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
