Forward Deployed Engineer, Lead - AI Engineer

Responsibilities
- Partner with Deployment Strategists and Sales to understand customer needs, architect solutions, and develop agentic applications.
- Architect and build complex agentic systems using advanced models, LLM workflows, and enterprise infrastructure integrations.
- Collaborate with research teams on customer-specific model adaptation and fine-tuning, while contributing to inference, fine-tuning, and evaluation code.
- Own production deployments across public cloud, VPC, and on-premises environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Scale the Forward Deployed Engineering organization by defining playbooks, standards, best practices, and mentorship programs.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production-grade systems in Python and TypeScript.
- Experience deploying enterprise software in cloud or hybrid environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and hands-on experience with vector databases, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, evaluations, and fine-tuning.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership capacity delivering AI-driven enterprise solutions.
- Ability and interest to work directly with customers, understand user needs, architect business solutions, and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Ability to operate with high ownership in a fast-paced startup environment where processes and playbooks are still being established.
