Responsibilities
- Build Azure landing zones and core platform services using Terraform.
- Create reusable, parameterized Terraform modules and maintain clean module interfaces.
- Provision Azure networking, Key Vault, storage, Log Analytics, compute, backup, private endpoints, identity, and policy assignments as code.
- Manage Terraform state at scale, including remote backends, segmentation, locking, and provider configuration.
- Test and validate infrastructure code with Terraform validation and planning, linting, and security scanning.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for Terraform plan and apply workflows, approvals, secrets handling, and drift detection.
- Write supporting automation in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures, state issues, and infrastructure drift.
- Set Terraform coding standards, review code, mentor engineers, and contribute reusable patterns to the practice library.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation with substantial recent Microsoft Azure experience.
- Strong hands-on Terraform and HCL experience, including modules, variables, locals, dynamic blocks, outputs, dependencies, and provider management.
- Experience building and testing reusable Terraform modules and Azure landing zone components aligned with Cloud Adoption Framework patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Azure networking, Key Vault, storage, Log Analytics, policy assignments, compute, and identity.
- Experience with Terraform state management, remote backends, state design, and access models.
- Familiarity with Terraform validation and planning, tflint, and security scanners such as Checkov or tfsec.
- Experience with Git feature branches, pull requests, code review, and module documentation.
- Clear communication with architects, engineers, and client technical teams.
- Preferred experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, Terraform CI/CD, workload identity federation, release management, drift detection, Azure Monitor, Azure Landing Zone accelerators, Bicep, ARM, AWS or GCP providers, and global delivery environments.
- Preferred certifications include HashiCorp Terraform Associate, AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-305.
