Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
- Create high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are reflected in implementation.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets, create visualizations and reports, and use findings to improve coding practices and system architecture.
- Identify hidden problems and data patterns and use those insights to improve software applications and systems.
- Follow responsible AI practices, including data-sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs and outputs, and guide peers on effective usage.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Knowledge of JIRA and Bitbucket, along with exposure to software development lifecycle automation.
- Knowledge of COBOL, SCOBOL, TACL, Tandem Pathway, Batchcom, Netbatch, FUP, KLIST, Enform, and SQL queries.
- Banking domain knowledge, including card processing and payment brands such as VISA and Mastercard.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and related security and resiliency expectations.
- Preferred familiarity with modern front-end technologies, cloud technologies, POS simulators, payment-brand simulators, Control-M, C++, Python, and Java.
