Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture and technical design of Workday Extend applications, integrations, data flows, APIs, and supporting technologies.
- Architect and lead development of Workday Extend applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, Workday APIs, and Extend frameworks.
- Design enterprise Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and Workday Web Services.
- Evaluate requirements and select solutions across Workday configuration, Extend, integrations, APIs, AI, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
- Lead architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, release management, production support, and technical governance.
- Develop AI and Generative AI solutions for intelligent automation, user experiences, decision support, and Workday capabilities.
- Assess AWS cloud services for application components, integrations, data processing, AI capabilities, and enterprise workloads.
- Define API, integration, security, authentication, authorization, error-handling, monitoring, logging, and performance strategies.
- Lead technical discovery, architecture workshops, proofs of concept, technology evaluations, and solution estimations.
- Review technical designs and identify risks, dependencies, scalability concerns, modernization opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance while leading and mentoring senior developers and engineering teams.
- Establish standards for code quality, version control, testing, observability, documentation, and deployment.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of overall IT or software development experience.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Workday Extend experience.
- Workday certification in Extend.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Integration Frameworks and Workday Studio.
- Experience with EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Workday Web Services, RaaS, Workday Reports, Calculated Fields, and Business Processes.
- Strong knowledge of Workday REST and SOAP APIs, Workday HCM architecture, and the Workday data model.
- Experience designing and developing enterprise-grade integrations.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and exposure to AI/ML and Generative AI technologies.
- Strong understanding of API-based and event-driven integration architectures.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred experience integrating LLM or Generative AI APIs into enterprise applications.
- Preferred knowledge of AWS Bedrock or equivalent enterprise AI services, plus AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and EventBridge.
- Preferred understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI agents.
- Preferred experience building AI-powered automation or employee-facing applications and exposure to Git, automated testing, and cloud deployment practices.
