Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support artifact availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Establish and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
- Build systems for real-time transaction processing and post-transaction ledgering and reconciliation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience shipping front-end applications.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases and develop supporting tools and practices.
- Strong ownership of professional growth and proactive feedback-seeking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Willingness to participate in a required on-call rotation.
