Responsibilities
- Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges.
- Design architectures and build custom implementations using Telnyx APIs, AI voice assistants, WebRTC, and communications services.
- Lead POCs, pilots, production launches, and customer outcomes from initial discovery through stable go-live.
- Deploy and operate LiteLLM, open-weight models, model-serving systems, routing and fallback strategies, and LLM governance controls.
- Build prompt and RAG pipelines, evaluation harnesses, and portable applications for English, Cantonese, and Mandarin use cases.
- Implement production observability covering metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, cost tracking, and usage governance.
- Troubleshoot complex integration issues, create documentation and runbooks, and collaborate with Product and Engineering on roadmap improvements.
Requirements
- CS degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of building and shipping production software used by real customers.
- Proficiency in multiple languages including Python, Node.js/TypeScript, and Go.
- Practical experience with production model integrations, rate limits, quotas, retries, streaming, token accounting, concurrency, and cost attribution.
- Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes with secrets management, configuration, and upgrades.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, or ELK.
- High-concurrency experience with Kafka, message queues, or event streams.
- Experience building APIs, including OpenAPI, REST or GraphQL design, authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and idempotency.
- Exposure to SIP, WebRTC, or real-time voice and messaging systems.
- Customer-facing engineering experience, including technical discovery, executive presentations, troubleshooting, and customer-site work.
- Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese communication skills, with Cantonese and/or Mandarin capability.
- Based in Hong Kong or willing to relocate, and legally authorized to work in Hong Kong or eligible for sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications include AI voice, STT/TTS, LLM gateway, model-serving, SQL, ETL, CI/CD, telecom, CPaaS, SaaS, sovereign or on-premises cloud, regulatory, and security experience.
