Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant Python microservices for the commodities risk platform.
  • Gather requirements from traders and risk managers, analyze needs, and develop platform functionality.
  • Assist with SL3 production support and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Integrate market-data, trade-repository, analytics, and other supporting libraries into the risk platform.
  • Collaborate with Markets Quantitative Analytics, Commodities Market Data, internal technology, and global teams.
  • Stay current with technology trends and developments.

Requirements

  • Recent hands-on experience with Python, SQL Server, and ideally Parquet.
  • Experience developing software within a distributed microservices architecture and working with databases.
  • Experience with analytics libraries, loosely coupled architectures, and queuing technology such as RabbitMQ.
  • Strong software engineering, problem-solving, delivery, and production troubleshooting skills.
  • Commodities risk experience is preferred, with front-office derivatives experience also relevant.
  • Understanding of risk Greeks, options, futures, exotics, and market data such as curves and fixings or settlements is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment environments using OpenShift/Kubernetes, Jenkins, or uDeploy is preferred.
  • Some C# experience and experience using AI tools to assist development are advantageous.
