Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and ship production-quality Python/FastAPI application-layer services.
- Own service quality from acceptance criteria through production.
- Establish and enforce guardrails using acceptance tests, architecture tests, and automated coding standards.
- Use agentic editors such as Claude Code and Cursor as daily delivery tools and guide other engineers in their safe, productive, and governed use.
- Identify and mitigate agent failure modes including prompt injection, scope creep, hallucinated APIs, and unsafe code edits.
- Lead technical delivery in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and work across cloud, AI, Snowflake, and application teams.
- Coach and mentor engineers onboarding to agentic development practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of sustained hands-on production delivery using agentic editors such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent, supported by specific examples.
- Strong production experience with Python and FastAPI building backend application services rather than infrastructure scripting or automation.
- Deep practical understanding of agent failure modes and mitigation within engineering workflows.
- Fluency in acceptance and architecture testing, including writing tests before implementation and enforcing coding standards through automated test suites.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery in ambiguous environments without a dedicated product manager.
- Desirable experience in financial services or regulated enterprise environments, legacy or Excel-based application modernization, internal developer platforms, AWS-native development, GitHub Actions pipelines, skills marketplace or API catalogue patterns, and coaching engineers on governing AI-generated code.
