Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable AI and data-management products from design through production.
- Serve as final architectural authority by approving or rejecting major designs and establishing cross-cutting standards, review processes, and engineering practices.
- Define architectural principles, frameworks, multi-year roadmaps, security and cloud-infrastructure alignment, cost optimization, and Build-vs.-Buy and M&A diligence strategies.
- Own enterprise software capabilities including scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, maintainability, security, and observability.
- Design sophisticated systems, drive technical direction and thought leadership, and publish or present technical work through blogs, whitepapers, patents, reports, and industry events.
- Mentor architects and senior and staff-level engineers, communicate architectural standards broadly, and align cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Dev, QA, product management, and UX to evaluate technical feasibility and ensure business and quality requirements are met.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and support customer and production escalations.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building highly scalable SaaS applications and platforms.
- Proven ability to independently deliver large, sophisticated projects and drive long-term design strategies across multiple complex projects.
- Track record of serving as an architectural decision-maker, owning design-review gates, setting standards, and driving cross-team alignment.
- Deep data-management and data-platform expertise, including data modeling, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, SQL/PL-SQL, data pipelines, distributed data processing, and large-scale data lake, warehouse, or lakehouse systems.
- Experience building or delivering AI/GenAI platforms and products at scale, including agentic workflows, RAG, vector search, LLM workflow orchestration, and supporting data foundations.
- Experience designing architectures for complex performance, scalability, and fault-tolerance challenges.
- Deep object-oriented programming knowledge with at least one OO language, preferably Java, plus familiarity with a high-level language and web framework such as Node.js, Express, or Hapi.
- Demonstrated thought leadership through technical reports, presentations, blogs, papers, or patents.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, communication, debugging, and cross-functional relationship-building skills.
- Experience with the full software lifecycle in highly agile and ambiguous environments.
- Preferred: experience with data integration, data governance, lineage, metadata management, data quality, identity resolution, API development, API lifecycle management, client SDKs, predictive and generative AI, AI/ML observability, evaluation, guardrails, streaming and event-driven architectures, real-time and batch pipelines, COGS optimization, Build-vs.-Buy or M&A technical diligence, Agile methodologies, pair programming, CI/CD, and customer production escalations.
