Responsibilities
- Operate and improve a multi-cluster, multi-region Kubernetes platform, including lifecycle management, upgrades, networking, workload isolation, and resource management.
- Build, test, version, and maintain infrastructure as code and extend the developer platform with golden paths, progressive delivery, and self-service environments.
- Own CI/CD pipelines for stateless services and latency- and availability-sensitive network functions.
- Implement observability against SLOs through metrics, logs, and tracing; participate in on-call, lead incidents, improve alerting, and conduct postmortems.
- Contribute to capacity planning, failure-domain design, disaster-recovery testing, and reliability improvements for live network infrastructure.
- Implement platform security controls including least-privilege IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, image scanning, and software supply-chain integrity.
- Automate compliance evidence, write and review design documents and infrastructure changes, and mentor mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, DevOps, or SRE roles with clear ownership of important production systems.
- Strong production Kubernetes experience covering upgrades, networking, resource limits, and debugging complex failures.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS or GCP; exposure to a second cloud or hybrid and edge infrastructure is a plus.
- Solid infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform or an equivalent tool.
- Proficiency in at least one systems or automation language, preferably Go or Python.
- Direct production reliability ownership, including carrying a pager, running incidents, and changing systems based on operational lessons.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure security, including IAM, secrets, network policy, and container hardening.
- Clear written communication and experience producing design documents and postmortems.
- Preferred experience includes telecom or network infrastructure, 5G core, cloud-native network functions, carrier-grade availability, high-availability databases or applications, edge or on-premises infrastructure, SOC 2, ISO 27001, FinOps cost engineering, and distributed teams.
