Responsibilities
- Own the architectural lifecycle of the internal developer platform, including service catalogs, developer portals, TechDocs, golden-path templates, and self-service provisioning.
- Design and operate multi-tenant and single-tenant SaaS fleet infrastructure using cell-based architectures, ring deployments, progressive releases, and multi-region abstractions.
- Design and supervise multi-tenant Kubernetes environments on AWS EKS and Azure AKS, including Helm libraries, Crossplane compositions, isolation policies, scaling, and deployment rotations.
- Build CI/CD-as-a-service and GitOps capabilities using GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and Argo Rollouts with rollback, drift detection, audit trails, supply-chain security, container signing, and SBOM generation.
- Manage API gateways, ingress, service mesh, global load balancing, CDN/WAF, mTLS, rate limiting, distributed tracing, and circuit-breaking capabilities.
- Develop centralized Terraform/OpenTofu registries, Kubernetes-native infrastructure workflows, and Go-based CLI tools and operators for platform automation, cost tracking, and credential rotation.
- Establish platform observability, logging, distributed tracing, FinOps reporting, cost anomaly guardrails, chaos testing, and disaster recovery verification.
- Implement zero-trust, workload identity, network policies, policy-as-code, admission controls, secrets management, and compliance-as-code for SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP requirements.
- Manage shared Kafka and AWS MSK infrastructure, including topic provisioning, schema management, and reusable event-driven architecture patterns.
- Promote platform adoption through developer feedback, usage analytics, outreach, and collaboration with product developers, Embedded SREs, and Central SREs.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience across the software development lifecycle, focused on platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Production experience building or significantly contributing to a Backstage, Port, or equivalent internal developer portal.
- Deep Kubernetes expertise with EKS, AKS, Helm, Kustomize, and Crossplane, including multi-tenant cluster design.
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS fleet management, cell-based architectures, and ring or canary deployment strategies.
- Strong proficiency in Go or Python for production-grade CLIs, custom operators, or platform backends.
- Experience implementing GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and Argo Rollouts pipelines and CI/CD-as-a-service.
- Experience authoring Terraform or OpenTofu modules at scale, including registry design, state management, and large infrastructure-as-code refactoring.
- Background developing Backstage plugins or contributing to open-source developer platform ecosystems.
- Experience with workload identity, SPIFFE, IRSA, and cloud-native zero-trust network architectures.
- Experience implementing OPA, Gatekeeper, or Kyverno for policy-as-code in production Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficiency with FinOps methodologies and tools such as Kubecost or cloud cost exposure APIs.
- Experience managing Kafka or AWS MSK as a multi-tenant platform capability.
- Experience centralizing engineering tooling into foundation layers and driving platform adoption across teams.
- Professional exposure to identity security frameworks, SaaS delivery, and high-compliance environments such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
Benefits
- The posting describes a welcoming, positive work environment with significant growth and learning opportunities.
- The role requires adherence to Saviynt information security and privacy policies and annual security training.
