Responsibilities

  • Design, modify, develop, and implement visual database applications for simulation and training.
  • Design, modify, develop, and implement RADAR database applications.
  • Develop 3-D models and terrain environments for simulation and mission rehearsal applications.
  • Install and support software applications and operating systems required for database integration.
  • Participate in software review, analysis, testing, witnessing, and certification activities.
  • Create preliminary and detailed design documents, technical design artifacts, and implementation notes.
  • Coordinate with the Training System Support Center Engineering group throughout visual database development.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers, Pilot Instructors, and subject matter experts to evaluate and validate database designs.
  • Provide technical support for C-17 visual database systems and associated tools.
  • Provide project status updates to management and customers through meetings and teleconferences.
  • Follow engineering, development, security, data-protection, and information-handling procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or eight years of related experience.
  • At least four years of experience in visual database development or a related technical field.
  • Experience designing visual databases for simulation or training applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with terrain-generation tools and 3-D modeling techniques is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical documentation, design interpretation, and optimization skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
  • Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods and engage with simulator hardware during testing or evaluation.
