Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on engineering work supporting the development and deployment of training systems, networking components, and simulation interfaces.
- Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software applications and tools used in simulation environments.
- Support, install, and troubleshoot software applications, operating systems, and simulation system components.
- Participate in the full software engineering lifecycle from requirements analysis and design through integration, testing, implementation, and deployment.
- Diagnose product-level issues and troubleshoot application functionality and system performance.
- Create and maintain software specifications, installation guides, test procedures, and support documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system integration, software updates, and training-system enhancements.
- Communicate project status, technical issues, risks, and recommended solutions to lead engineers and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 2–4 years of experience in software development, system integration, or technical support roles.
- Foundational knowledge of software engineering practices, debugging, application development, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and software installation.
- Ability to work with general direction, manage priorities, solve problems analytically, and collaborate effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for status reporting, documentation, and interaction with engineering leads.
- Preferred experience with simulation systems, training devices, defense-related engineering projects, system integration, simulation networking middleware, version control, configuration management, distributed systems, networking protocols, and technical documentation.
- Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance and be a U.S. citizen due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
