Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end system features across frontend and backend components.
- Develop and optimize Apache Kafka producers, consumers, event pipelines, and stream-processing logic.
- Handle schema compatibility, retries, dead-letter processing, backpressure, delivery semantics, idempotency, and traceability.
- Apply approved AI coding assistants for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and integration testing, with human review and validation.
- Build Kafka pipelines supporting AI inference, embedding updates, and retrieval-augmented generation data ingestion.
- Evaluate response quality, latency, cost, prompt-injection resistance, and sensitive-data handling with AI service teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert, make team decisions, collaborate across multiple teams, and provide technical solutions.
- Lead feature design and implementation, mentor junior team members, and coordinate cross-functional delivery efforts.
- Troubleshoot and optimize system performance while applying cloud-first development and deployment practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Apache Kafka.
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka and experience with distributed messaging systems and event-driven architecture.
- Strong knowledge of backend and frontend development frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, deployment strategies, continuous integration, and agile software development.
- Hands-on experience with approved coding assistants, context-rich prompting, generated-code review, and automated test validation.
- Experience with Java or Python, LLM APIs, Kafka Streams or approved Kafka client libraries, and retrieval/vector-store integrations.
- Knowledge of capital markets and investment management, including securities, trading, portfolio management, investment operations, or related financial services processes.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education.
