Responsibilities
- Drive innovation and deliver software at scale while meeting reliability, security, compliance, performance, and cost requirements.
- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship across teams and advance engineering practices through coding, testing, design, observability, and operations.
- Design reusable platform-first products, services, tools, and extensible code with attention to maintainability and operational impact.
- Serve as technical lead for multiple initiatives spanning architecture, design, implementation, validation, deployment, and operationalization.
- Partner with teams, customers, and technical leaders to resolve dependencies and trade-offs and execute long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Influence relevant open-source projects, evaluate technologies, and share engineering knowledge with broader communities.
- Lead debugging, incident learning, deployment automation, security hardening, and telemetry improvements for complex infrastructure systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred: Master's degree and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience providing architectural or technical leadership across multiple complex engineering initiatives.
- Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, databases, or client-server architectures.
- Experience architecting data infrastructure, Infrastructure as a Service, AI infrastructure, storage, graph, compute, or platform systems.
- Experience influencing open-source projects or participating in open-source project management and governance.
- Successful completion of Microsoft Cloud Background Check and Microsoft Background Check.
