Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software and functional or destructive test suites for production reliability systems.
  • Build automated monitoring solutions, centralized health dashboards, API integrations, CLI utilities, and proactive operational diagnostics.
  • Manage, optimize, modernize, and decommission enterprise batch execution flows and dependency chains across workload scheduling platforms.
  • Configure alerting pipelines, escalation policies, and incident-response integrations using observability and incident-management tools.
  • Collaborate with product and application development teams on valuable, developer-ready, understandable, and testable user stories and onboarding standards.
  • Eliminate operational toil through code and script-based automation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contractors and lead technical discussions on automation scripting, workflow scheduling, troubleshooting, and software development frameworks.

Requirements

  • At least three years of professional software engineering, SRE, DevOps, or system automation experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a job-related field.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash/Shell, Java, Go, or Groovy.
  • Experience developing API integrations, operational health dashboards, and CLI utilities.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise workload automation and schedulers such as Rundeck, CA7, Maestro/HCL Workload Automation, AutoSys, or Control-M.
  • Experience migrating, re-architecting, or modernizing batch job flows and dependency chains.
  • Experience configuring alerting, escalation policies, and incident-response integrations such as PagerDuty and Slack or Teams webhooks.
  • Experience with telemetry, log aggregation, and dashboarding tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Familiarity with retail supply chain, warehouse management, or distribution-center operational systems is preferred.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants, agentic workflows, or AIOps tooling is preferred.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the United States.
