Responsibilities
- Design performance and benchmarking workloads reflecting realistic scenarios.
- Build and improve production-quality internal tooling and automation.
- Write and maintain code primarily in Python.
- Run benchmarks across cloud environments with a focus on fairness and repeatability.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and communicate results.
- Translate business questions into scoped technical plans and execution milestones.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Sales teams for actionable testing.
- Produce technical documents and reports connecting findings to product decisions.
- Help shape team standards for documentation and benchmark execution.
- Mentor peers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with distributed and highly concurrent software systems.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and debugging skills.
- Hands-on experience with performance testing methodologies.
- Experience designing and implementing benchmarking workflows.
- Strong coding skills in Python or a similar language.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, or Cassandra.
- Ability to reason about data models and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and operate autonomously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
