Base Salary

$200k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

Own well-scoped projects that improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of Peregrine’s data platform.
Build and enhance systems that ingest, process, and enrich high-volume customer data at low latency.
Work on datastores, orchestrated data pipelines, connection layers, authorization, and notification systems.
Contribute to datastore storage-format migrations, framework upgrades, database connection-pooling improvements, and authorization capabilities.
Reduce data-processing latency and scale and tune search infrastructure as data volumes grow.
Take projects from design through production rollout and write robust, well-tested, production-grade software.
Participate in incident response, root-cause production issues, and help resolve recurring failure patterns.
Collaborate with engineers, deployment teams, and users through pairing, code review, and iterative problem-solving.

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services such as data pipelines, relational and search datastores, or message queues.
Experience taking projects from design through production rollout.
Experience shipping and iterating on production-grade software professionally and/or through open-source work.
Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed code that is frequently deployed to users.
Comfort navigating and contributing to large, established codebases.
Comfort participating in incident response and resolving recurring failure patterns.
Located in the San Francisco or New York area and open to working in an office.
Strong ownership, collaboration, communication, and willingness to work through ambiguity.
