Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own services and automation within traffic, compute, and streaming platform layers.
- Engineer reliability, resiliency, and self-healing behavior into production services.
- Implement and improve SLO measurement, error-budget reporting, and reliability tooling.
- Build and maintain safe deployment pipelines using canary and blue/green deployment strategies.
- Develop automated unit, integration, functional, performance, and chaos testing coverage.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and conduct blameless post-incident reviews.
- Mentor engineers, contribute to design and code reviews, and automate operational toil with Technical Operations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale, distributed, highly reliable systems, including development, operations, and on-call support.
- Production-quality programming experience with Java, Python, Rust, Go, or other systems programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and immutable infrastructure patterns.
- Experience deploying and operating AWS-based solutions and familiarity with IAM, CloudWatch, EC2, EKS, Kinesis, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Lambda, and S3.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Spinnaker and deployment strategies such as canary and blue/green.
- Experience with automated testing at unit, integration, functional, and performance levels.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch, or Grafana, including service instrumentation and alert tuning.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and a practical, collaborative approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent training or work experience.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, Flink, or Kinesis; chaos testing and resilience engineering; APIs and database schemas; GenAI, LLMs, or agents; capacity management; load testing; performance tuning; and AWS certifications.
