Responsibilities
- Design and build stable, performant software for Amazon Now’s customer-facing shopping platform.
- Solve complex engineering problems using appropriate technologies, design approaches, and trade-offs.
- Develop readable, maintainable software while minimizing workarounds, unnecessary complexity, and dependencies.
- Optimize resource usage across system hardware, databases, memory, and CPU.
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers on project ideas and product initiatives.
- Contribute to systems serving shopping, ordering, savings, personalization, cart, checkout, and merchandising experiences.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: 3+ years contributing to new and existing systems architecture and design, including reliability and scaling.
