Responsibilities
- Build and optimize LLM-powered conversation-analysis pipelines while balancing model cost, latency, and quality.
- Improve speech processing, including transcription accuracy, multilingual audio handling, and real-world audio quality.
- Design and build AI agents that reason over enterprise data with appropriate guardrails.
- Develop and scale high-throughput, multi-tenant backend services for reliability and performance.
- Own usage tracking, cost attribution, observability, and quality monitoring for AI workloads.
- Own the full software lifecycle from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Mentor and own the output of a team of 4–6 engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and people development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or a similar backend language.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multithreading, concurrency, design patterns, modularity, and scalability.
- Experience designing, building, and operating microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, asynchronous job processing, databases, caching layers, message brokers, and search or analytics systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, structured output, and cost management, or strong engineering fundamentals with willingness to learn LLMs.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience includes RAG, embeddings, vector stores, Linux, shell scripting, Grafana, Kibana, Elasticsearch, networking, ASR/TTS, audio pipelines, graph databases, columnar analytics stores, multi-tenant SaaS, LLM observability, and self-hosting or fine-tuning open-weight models.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
