Responsibilities
- Co-lead end-to-end design and development of high-volume, low-latency applications for real-time event-based systems.
- Lead and direct senior software engineers while defining software architecture and assessing system complexity and implementation risks.
- Deliver highly available and high-performance platforms using microservices architecture.
- Identify code bottlenecks and inefficiencies and resolve production and non-production issues.
- Evaluate open-source projects and technology trends for potential product adoption.
- Translate business functionality and production specifications into technical requirements and low-level designs.
- Remain hands-on and apply a practical approach to software and technology.
- Collaborate with product management and other teams to build highly scalable products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of design and development experience in scalable and distributed enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, JPA, Spring framework, and RESTful web services.
- Excellent Java coding skills.
- Experience managing, implementing, and optimizing large data stores such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience deploying applications and using managed services from AWS and Azure.
- Preferred experience with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AngularJS, React, and D3.js.
- Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Proven ability to drive large-scale projects with understanding of Agile SDLC, collaboration, and leadership.
