Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance microservices framework components and platform services.
- Engineer and operate API gateway and API management capabilities, including Kong.
- Implement scalable and secure API, microservices, and event-driven application patterns across AWS and Akamai.
- Define engineering standards, reusable patterns, and reference implementations with application teams and platform stakeholders.
- Contribute to architecture, analysis, design, development, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Improve automation, testing, reliability practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support Agile delivery, production readiness, operational ownership, and incident follow-up.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools and establish standards for validating their outputs.
- Coach engineers on secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure architecture.
- Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Golang, with 7+ years of experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, including Terraform for AWS provisioning.
- At least 3 years of experience building and operating APIs, API gateways, and API management capabilities.
- At least 3 years of experience deploying and operating AWS workloads using EKS.
- Strong architecture, analysis, design, coding, code review, and modern developer-toolchain skills.
- Experience collaborating in large cross-functional teams and using Agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery practices.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: deep expertise with AWS services for platform engineering, networking, security, and observability.
- Preferred: experience with event-driven architectures and managed messaging or streaming patterns.
